BetaShares launches Metaverse ETF on the ASX

The Metaverse is expanding more by the day. In Australia the fund manager BetaShares started to offer a Metaverse ETF. This provides investors the opportunity to invest in Metaverse relevant companies.

The BetaShares Metaverse ETF (ASX: MTAV) is now available, making it the first Australian ETF to provide committed exposure to a portfolio of leading global companies building, developing, and operating the Metaverse. By 20241, the market opportunity for ‘bringing the Metaverse to life’ is expected to be worth nearly $800 billion in annual revenue.

Some leading brands are already leveraging technology to connect with their customers more deeply – a recent example being a collaboration between the International Space Station and Meta Quest to bring a spacewalk to viewers via the Metaverse, or leading musicians performing in the Metaverse for their fans. MTAV seeks to track the Bloomberg Metaverse Select Index and currently provides exposure to a portfolio of 32 leading companies that create a significant portion of their revenue from Metaverse-related activities, such as Roblox, NVIDIA, and Meta Platforms.
